Ferdinando Principiano is one of the new crop of talented young winegrowers to farm Piedmont's Langhe hills, producing organic and traditional wines from some of the most prestigious vineyards around Monforte d'Alba.
The Barolo di Serralunga 2015 from Ferdinando Principiano is complex and radiant, an excellent choice for drinking now and over the next decades. Ferdinando's approach to making natural wines is proving to be extremely successful providing impressive quality inside his bottles.
Principiano Langhe Nebbiolo comes predominately from a small 40 year-old hectare of Nebbiolo vines in the Le Coste di Monforte vineyard and a small portion from the Boscareto plot of Serralunga. The depth, richness and detail Principiano is able to coax from these vines is impressive.
The Barbera d'Alba la Romualda 2014 is rich and full in the mouth, long and impressive on the aftertaste. This is a remarkable showing from Principiano and his ability to produce pure and complex wines using only biodynamic approaches.
