The Tardy family, originally from Flagey-Echezeaux, established roots near Vosne-Romanée. Victor Tardy, joining Domaine Camuzet in 1920, received vineyards in sharecropping in 1945. Jean Tardy then succeeded his father in 1966 wit the expansion of the estate and in 1997 Guillaume Tardy returned to the Domaine, later taking charge in 2003.
Sustainability is prioritized, avoiding chemicals, and emphasizing healthy fruit. The domaine, with just over five hectares, produces meticulously crafted, lieu-dit cuvées under Guillaume's perfectionist approach. Guillaume's commitment to continuous progress has elevated the domaine's quality, evident in the cool-fruited 2018 vintage.
Domaine Jean Tardy quietly gained recognition in high-end European restaurants, known for its expressive, finessed Côte de Nuits reds. With a discreet yet solid foothold, the domaine's wines are considered among the finest in the Côte d’Or.
