The 2018 Barbaresco Autinbej is a very pretty entry-level wine in this range. Black cherry, spice, menthol, licorice and dried flowers all open up in a fruity, forward Barbaresco that will drink well right out of the gate. This is such a delicious and inviting wine.

The 2017 Barbaresco Riserva Asili is a wine of pure and total sensuality. Light on its feet, gracious and perfumed, the 2017 is all class. Sweet rose petal, spice, mint, dried flowers, anise and blood orange give the 2017 striking aromatic complexity, but it is the translucence of the Nebbiolo fruit that I most admire here.

The 2018 Barbaresco Pora is sweet, layered and perfumed in the glass, with hints of hard candy, wild flowers, sweet and mint. This is an unusually sweet, almost candied wine for the year, perhaps because of the slightly greater influence of French oak tonneaux

The 2019 Barbaresco Autinbej is a very pretty wine for drinking now and over the next handful of years. Dark red berry fruit, spice, leather, tobacco and cedar all build with time in the glass, giving the 2019 lovely textural richness and resonance. This is very nicely done.
