The 2013 Extra Brut Les Bacchantes Avize Grand Cru is a pure Chardonnay, barrel fermented. Toast and reduction on the nose lead onto supple, smooth creaminess. These notions echo beautifully on the palate, giving impressions rather than firm flavors of vanilla, salt, stone, creaminess on a cloud-like, expansive palate.

Soft citrus fruits and toast lifted by crushed stone on the nose. Fat and fruity but less showy than the Tillets. This is densely packed and rather serious wine, offering a glyceral texture but showing less of the vintage's exotic side. Finishes with lovely length.
