History

Tenuta San Marcello is proof that great wine can emerge from conviction as much as from tradition. In the rolling hills of the Marche, Massimo Palmieri and Pascale Marquet built a small estate devoted entirely to native grapes, sustainable farming and a way of working that respects both land and time.

Here, the sea breeze meets clay-limestone soils, and those conditions give uncommon energy and salinity to Verdicchio and Lacrima. The wines feel vivid, textural and grounded, shaped by hand harvests, spontaneous fermentations and a deep ecological sensitivity.

Tenuta San Marcello is not trying to imitate more famous regions. It expresses the Marche with pride, clarity and a quietly radical sense of place.
Founded / first vintage The project began in 2007, with vineyard planting from 2008 onward.
Location San Marcello, inland from Senigallia, Marche.
Vineyard surface 4 hectares.
Background /
Signature grapes Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi and Lacrima di Morro d’Alba.
Production Under 20,000 bottles.
Distinctive traits Organic fruit only, regenerative / biodynamic principles, hand harvest, spontaneous fermentations, qvevri and chestnut cask vinification.
